If you're looking for fashion that's rooted in a history of Rock 'n' Roll, you've come to the right place.  Peace Store is the creation of Gene Montesano, a Brookly born baby boomer with an entrepreneurial streak.

Growing up in the midst of the hippie counter-culture movement, Gene was 21 when he first co-founded a denim shop in Florida called Four Way Street. He’d entered the denim business and was thrilled to be making one-of-a-kind, 100% authentic jeans that reflected the era. By 1972 and with just $100 in his pocket, Gene moved to Los Angeles where he co-founded Bongo Jeans. In 1990 he left Bongo to launch his dream – Lucky Brand Jeans – a denim company that revolved around great quality and good humor. Lucky Brand became instantly known for its attention to fit and the ‘Lucky You’ signature that summed up Gene’s free and fun-loving spirit. But Gene’s dream didn’t end there..

Since Lucky Brand, Gene has also created Civilianaire, Jean Shop and the Peace Store – the brand that was founded on his lifelong passion for authentic, hand-crafted blue jeans, Woodstock culture and a

heavy dose of rock ‘n’ roll. Once again, Gene has designed a line of apparel and home furnishings using high quality fabrics that are hand-dyed in Los Angeles. Containing a healthy dose of humor and a positive message of peace and love, these colorful items appeal to happy hearts of all ages, from children to boomers who are eager to recreate the ideology of the 70’s. Peace Store’s apparel consists of tie-dyed t-shirts, sweatpants and hoodies for men, women and children alongside a selective line of denim that features intricate washes and delicate rinses right out of the Woodstock era. His home furnishing designs include tie-dyed sheet sets and duvet covers, each with a unique personality that is sure to brighten your home.
